Schmoo started hockey last night. He is in the initiation program for kids 10 & under. The program focuses on teaching kids to skate and fundamentals of hockey. Once they have mastered all the fundamentals they are placed on a house team. They can transfer to a house team whenever they are ready - even if it's the middle of the season. Schmoo is #8 and he did really well last night. By the time the first practice was over he was able to walk halfway across the ice on his own without falling. He was so pumped! Mommy, Daddy & Grandma are so proud of him!
Wow! In the pads and uniform, it's so real that he's growing up. I can still see the bouncing 6 month old, with a toothless grin!! I hope that now what the other boys have planned for him! He must be so PROUD!! And should be!!!
First and foremost I'm a mom and I love it! I waited a long time to be called Mommy by someone and cherish every moment. I'm married to a retired sailor and we both work full-time. I work in the insurance industry and my husband, Matt, works as a field repair technician. We adopted our little guy through the foster care/adoption program. He was placed with us when he was 6 months old and had just turned 2 the month before our gotcha day. God certainly blessed us and he was well worth the wait. We love family time and spending time with family and friends. We are Lutheran Missouri Synod and are active in our Church. We love to travel and Schmoo is already a seasoned traveler. He travels so well, which is such a blessing. Everyday seems to bring a new adventure.
